A Little Treat Bag

We had some family friends over last weekend to watch the movie Elf with Will Ferrell.  A few had not seen it before so we made a night out of it with build your own mini pizzas and candy cane ice cream for dessert  (in honour of Elf ... lol)
At the end of the night I wanted to have a little something for the kids to take home,  so my son and I made these treat bags for them...

The cute little penguin is from the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, the white background that he is on is a cut from the Elegant Edges.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms “Winter Wishes” stamp set.  All the paper is from Recollections.

I am playing along at the Scrappy Moms challenge - "It's In the Bag" you can see more here

I hope every one has a very Merry Christmas,

Cheryl :)

Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on a Christmas card and tag series, here is another card and tag;

All the paper is from Recollections and the patterned paper is from the Believe stack.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms and the twine is from Martha Stewart.  The faux stitching is done with a red glitter Jelly Roll pen. The Santa’s are from Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge.

A Christmas Card and Tag

We have a couple of very wet and cold days here...although this morning the rain has turned into snow.... J  Everything looked like a picture post card, well for a while anyway...lol !
Over the last couple of weeks I have been making some Christmas cards with matching or coordinating tags for family and friends. I have made this one about a week or so ago and had posted a video on my You Tube channel but did not have the time to share it here. So I wanted to do so today...

All the paper is from Recollections and he patterned paper is from the Believe stack. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink, Love Lives Here stamp set. I have used a red gel pen for the red on the holly, just to give it some sparkle J

PTI Blog Hop ~ November 2011

Hi everyone, today I am participating in the Papaertrey Ink's monthly blog hop. Here is the inspiration for this month's challenge...

What inspired me from this picture was the warmth of the home setting. The stairs all decorated for Christmas...someone is thinking about skating and everyone is feeling festive.
Here is my entry...

I have made this card for my mom because my husband and boys and I will be away for Christmas day.  We usually spend Christmas at her house, which is a very warm and inviting place filled with wonderful past Christmas memories.
Since we will be away I wanted her to know that our hearts will be with her throughout Christmas day. My mom loves angels so it seemed like a perfect fit!

To make this card I have use Recollections paper, the red patterned paper is from the Believe stack.
I have used the Love Lives Here stamp set to stamp the red and green pattern, the sentiment and the angel. She is cut out with the coordinating die for this stamp set.  The label with sentiment is cut out with the Christmas label.
I have distressed the edge of the paper with Antique Linen distress ink from Ranger and the label with Fire Brick

A Fun Christmas Card

I have been in Christmas mode for a couple of weeks now, creating decorations, tags and cards. I think that it will soon be time to start decorating the house...lol. We had some snow here yesterday and it has really helped me feel festive. :)
Today I am happy to show you my first easel card! I am going to make a tag that coordinates with this card, but I wanted to show the card first ...

The gingerbread is cut from the From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge and cut out on the blackout feature, his face has been stamped with a Peachy Keen Stamp set. The Christmas tree is from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I have inked the edge of the tree with some white ink to give it a snowy look...lol.
The paper is from Recollections, the patterned paper is from their Believe stack. The shimmer paper is from DCWV and it has been embossed with the snowflakes embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms “Winter Wishes” stamp set and is on a label I cut with a Papertrey Ink label die.
I have distressed the edge of the gingerbread with  Vintage Photo distress ink from ranger, and the edge of the label I used Fire Brick Distress ink.
This week I am entering the challage at Scrappy Mom, Click Here to see more.
I hope that you are having a great Thursday, tomorrow my kids have a P.A day so I think that we are going to have a pj day! :) :)

Getting ready for Christmas...

Hello!!
With Christmas coming I have decided to make some cards with matching tags to give with the gifts that I am giving to my family and friends.
I am hoping to make everyone their own unique and special card and tag.  My husband and I always give each other cards on Christmas morning and we hide them in the tree, so I am thinking if there are not too many I am going to hide them all in the tree!! I am hoping that the kids will find this exciting!!!

So here is my first card and tag...

To make the angle I have used the Love Lives Here: Holiday stamp set and matching die collection from Papaertrey Ink. The stamped sentiment is also from the same set.
The paper is from recollections and the patterned paper is from the Believe stack from Recollections.
The button twine is from Pappertrey Ink.

Here is a quick video of how I put it all together:

A Crafty Care Package

Our church is sending care packages to our students away from home.  They have been collecting pop corn, KD, hot chocolate, Chap Stick, noodles, and any other little thing that a student might need.
When I heard about this project I wanted to be involved! I was quite homesick when I was away at school so I loved the idea of sending them a care package, letting them know that we are thinking about them.
Here are some pictures of what I came up with to add to it...

All the males will receive the same card...lol!!

A “Hot Chocolate Holder”
This little book holds two sleeves of hot chocolate.

In the back of this picture there are some Post it Note holders that have been embossed and monogrammed with the students initial

The paper I used is from Recollections, K & Company- the Amy Butler Collection, Classic K Design paper and a pack from Costco.

The Cuttlebug Embossing folders that I used are: Victoria, Swiss Dots, Tiny Bubbles and Floral Fantasy.

The cuts for these projects are from the Create A Critter, Elegant Edges, Gypsy Wanderings and Sentimentals Cricut Cartdgrides. I also used a Spellbinder die- Fancy Tags for one of the cards.

The stamped sentiments are from My Pink Stamper, Scrappy Moms and the monograms are from Martha Stewart.

The hot chocolate holder was a great idea I got from watching a video by Sara at mypinkcricut.  Here is a link to her viedo. She will give you the instructions on how to make this cute little book...How you decorate it are up to you!!

I have left the cards empty on the inside so that people at church can sign them and write little notes to the students :)

Getting Ready For Halloween!!!

This year I have been thinking a lot about Halloween.  We have bought our boy’s their costumes what seems like ages ago which has left me with time to think about all the other things I would like to do!
I decided that I would make cards for the kids in my life...my niece, nephew and friends kids, even some of my friends who live out of town!!
I started the cards a few weeks ago but finished them us on Sunday.  I don’t have a lot of Halloween craft supplies but I do have some Cricut cartridges with Halloween images and a Recollections stamp set. I did buy a glittery green Gelly roll pen :)
On Sunday we had dinner with friends so I did not need to cook or clean up supper, my boys were in bed early, but I was exhausted and head achy :(                            I just had the need to craft but probably should have stopped long before I did, it was one of those nights where I was having a hard time deciding on anything ...lol As it turned out all of my cards look very similar...lol That was not my intent (or it would not have been a much faster craft session..lol)
So Here are the cards I came up with:

The Recipe:
The paper is from Recollections and Prima- Sasha Paper Collection
Glitter green and white Gelly roll pen for the faux stitching
Stamped images are from a Recollections stamp set – Halloween
Cricut cartridges: Doodlecharms, Paper Dolls Dress Up, Winter Woodlands

Martha Stewart glitter – Black Onyx
Martha Stewart Stamp Flourished Monograms for the Boo sentiment

I hope you have a wonder full day.

Happy 50th Birthday

My husband’s uncle tuned 50 at the beginning of August. His family had a nice party for him, which turned out to be a lot of fun :)

I wanted to make him something that would be funny and light hearted something that would get a chuckle from him. This is the card I came up with...

This card is an A2 sized card with the mat piece 1/8th" of an inch smaller on all sides. The mat paper has been embossed with the Cuttlebug folder Spots and Dots.
The sun is cut at 2 and 3/4" and it from the Simply Charmed Cartridge. I could not decide on what stamp to use so I turned to the computer for the sentiment for this card!

I did not get to see him open it, but he did tell me that he thought that it was cute!

A Fun Way of Saying Thanks

When I have a little “extra" time, and I say it like that because who really has extra time...lol I like to make some thank you cards to tuck away until I need them. I love having them around because we as a family are always sending them out!
I try to make all different kinds of cards so that the person who receives it, I hope will enjoy it or it will be something memorable, a little different than your average thank you card :)

The cuts are from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge and the sentiment is from a stamp set I bought at the dollar store!
I still have this card ready to go ... so I’ll be ready the next time I need one ... lol

Happy 7th Birthday

My niece turns 7 today! With the weather being so hot outside I thought that I would make her a fun summertime card.  I thought that one scoop of ice cream for each year and a matching envelope would be really fun:)

The card is an A9 card which is an 11 ½ by 8 ½ folded in half. The envelope was made with my Martha Stewart score board. The paper is double sided and from Costco.
The cuts are from the Simply Charmed, Song Bird and From My Kitchen Cricut cartridges.
Two of the scoops of ice cream have been embossed with my Cuttlebug and two have been glittered up!

This card was a lot of fun to make,

Two Special Cards

These cards are for two special people in my life: a good friend and my loving husband :)

~The first card is for a friend who has been going through a rough patch over the last while. She has been experiencing  a lot of ongoing stress and has just come to the end of her ordeal with a happy ending! I feel very happy for her and wanted to let her know so I made her this card:

All of the cuts for this card is from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. I started out by welded two fish bows together with my Gypsy to create the card.
The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and Memento Tuxedo Black ink was the ink I used. Once I was done stamping I used some Inkadinkado chalks to fill the bowl up with water.
I finished off this card by adding a ribbon to the top...I love how this card has turned out and I am really excited to give it to her :)

~The next card I made was a anniversary card for my wonderful husband. On Wednesday we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary :)
Since I was making this card for a guy I did not want to add to much bling or embellishments to it, so I kept it relatively simple.

The cow is from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and her eyes have been altered to look like she is dewy in love. They start at ½ inch and are from a circle punch and the Platin Schoolbook cartridge.  I have added some Glossy Accents to them and her smile to add some depth to the card.

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and has been heat embossed with some black embossing powder to help it stand out. I finished it off with some white faux stitching around the edge of the card with my gel pen.

Having just moved I was really happy to be back at crafting again this week! We are just about settled in and have everything almost where we want it...lol

My Garden Cake

I had a lot of fun this week creating my garden cake. There were a lot of components to the cake which all had their own time lines...but once they were all done, it was a lot of fun putting it all together :)
This cake was made for a garden themed bridal shower.

Here is a video describing the cake:

I hope you have a great weekend :)

Chilli Cook Off

A couple of weeks ago our church had a chilli cook off and my friend’s husband won! I wanted to send him a unique congratulations card....

The pot is from From My Kitchen cartridge. I cut out two and then cut them at the lid. The bottom half is glued together around the edge and the top is glued together with a piece of white card stock attached in-between . The edges of the white card stock has been inked with blue ink and the stamp is from Martha Stewart.
The White star has been covered in glitter, which I know is not very masculine....but I can’t resist glitter... lol

Get well Soon

My brother in law had strep throat last week and then my niece developed it too :(  My niece is almost 7 and the only girl in our family, so I thought that I would make her a cute little get well soon card.

The little lady bug is cut at 3 inches and is from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, as are the clouds. The clouds have glitter from Studio G covering them, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.
The back ground paper is a Tim Coffey Designer  Mat Pad from K&Company. The card is an A2 size card and the mat piece is just shy of that.

I hope that my sister’s family is soon back to full heath!
