Today's card is just as the title suggests, was fast to make and simple and clean in design. I love cards like this, with bright colours and a sparkly sentiment :) I really should make a whole bunch and have them ready to go. Here is the card:
The supplies I used are in the picture above, well except that I forgot to include the Wink of Stella clear brush pen and the corner chomper that I used on the corners of the card. I wanted this card to be bright and cheerful, something totally different from any Christmas or winter themes and I love how clean and simple it is.
Last week with the Black Friday sales I decided to buy some Tombow markers and try to do some brush lettering. I just love watching all the videos and I thought this might be something fun to do at night while my husband and I sit and watch some tv.
Below is one of my first attempts, I am happy with the merry and bright, I am not so happy with my Christmas lights doodles... I saw some pictures online and I got a little carried away...lol.
I know there are some beautiful brush lettering people out there, I just thought to share mine as possibly an encouragement to those of us who are just starting out. I thought I would share my journey if you will. It is sometimes discouraging to see some beautiful quotes you would like to try and then feel badly when yours doesn't come out just the way you thought it should.
Well here's me keeping it real!
I hope you are all having a great day, till next time :)
Hello!! This month's card kit is complete and ready to go :) I have created 5 fun cards that I hope you'll have fun putting together. Each kit will contain all the pieces required to make the cards in the pictures plus envelopes so that the cards can be mailed or given to someone special. Please feel free to change up the cards any way you feel like. The pictures are just an example of how the cards can go together, add anything you may have at home to the cards or alter the pieces anyway you like :). Colour in the backgrounds, use your favourite scissors or add your special blend of glitter to make the cards your own.

I hope you have a lot of fun putting your cards together and mailing them off to friends and family!!
It has been a very cold and snowy January here and we're only half way through it. I hate this extreme cold but I do love seeing everything sparkle and shine. I just love how the trees look all layered in sparkly snow...so pretty!
After my walk this morning seeing all this beauty I felt inspired to create but was to tired today to paint (which is what I had been planning to do).
I did get myself down to my craft room and I had a very enjoyable afternoon creating some birthday cards. I am getting low on my birthday card stash and I thought I should get some made and ready to go!
I got a new stamp set right before Christmas and I have not had a chance to use it until today. It was also my first time really using my Disress Oxied Inks and I love how my card turned out.
To create this 4x4 card I started off using a MFT burlap background stamp. I stamped it in a Hero Arts soft yellow ink. I distressed the edges of the card with some Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress Ink.
The Stamp set is from Concord and 9th, Love You, Meant it. I have wanted this set for a while and was so happy to add it to my collection.
I used SSS Khaki ink for the wreath and Black ink for the sentiment.
The flowers and the leaves were stamped with Distress Oxide inks... Wild Violet, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint.
I made three more cards while I had the stamp set and inks out and I'll share them here over the next couple of days.
It's a cheerful springy card for this cold, snowy day and I had a lot of fun using this stamp set and using my new inks today!
Well it's been a couple of weeks now since Christmas and I thought that it would be nice to send out some thank you notes to our family for their wonderful gifts that our boys received this Christmas. I have always liked the 'thank you Snow much' sentiment and I love snowflakes too so I thought that I would make some pretty cards this year. I recently got a new Cricut machine and I thought it would be nice to use the Cricut markers for the sentiments and an image from the Winter Lace Cricut cartridge. I used one snowflake image for all three cards. I also decided to use my Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder on one of the cards for snowflakes overload...lol
The snow globe was cut from a PaperTrey Ink die. The label tied to it with the sentiment is from the Cricut Forever Young cartridge and the background stamp on the small square card is the wood grain background stamp from MFT. It was inked up with the SSS Dark Chocolate ink.
The backgrounds were created with some distress inks, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch and a mini distress blending tool.
Now for the hard part, to get my boys to fill them out and get them into the mail!!
